While it may have great action, it still felt extremely average overall.Ģ007 was the first full year after two major consoles released – the Wii and PlayStation 3 in November 2006, with the Xbox 360 releasing in November 2005. But the real conundrum is if "Project Power" was able to scratch that blockbuster itch. The visual effects also came through quite well. The powers themselves were great and the concept of it lasting only for 5 minutes brought in some freshness into the idea of superpowers and added great action sequences. But as an action film, the film did salvage the experience. In fact, the film had some serious problems developing its characters to the point we really didn't connect with them at all. The film tries to put some mystery into its characters like Jamie Foxx's character of Art - basically if he is really telling the truth about his background - but it was pretty obvious which one was which. Once everything was revealed it just fell through miserably. The film actually lacks a solid main antagonist with possible bad guys turning out to be fall guys instead. The premise was generic and it never evolves to anything special. Who is telling the truth and who is truly behind the madness?Įverything about "Project Power" just came out as generic. But a young police man (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) has conflicting reports about Art marking him as a dangerous man instead. One of the dealers of this drug is a young teenage girl named Robin (Dominique Fishback) who is suddenly kidnapped by a mysterious man named Art who has a secret vendetta (Jamie Foxx) against a man called Biggie whom he claims kidnapped his young daughter and is the head of the people behind "Power". As rumors spread of people having displaying uncanny powers like bulletproof skin, invisibility, speed, and super strength, it is obvious that whatever is happening in the city is connected to the illegal drug called "Power". But as expected, it doesn't pull any punches to stand out and be extraordinary.Ī new experimental drug is on the loose around New Orleans. Music and cinematography are good though.Final Word: Vachadu Odaadu is an apt title for this film from audience point of view.With a heavy dose of managed expectations, "Project Power" has all the action and thrills to make it a passable film to watch just to pass the time away. Script is very weak that it would be a big test to sit through the film till climax. May be Tamil audience might respond to it in a better way.The film is technically sound and the performances are alright.

So, the only plus point of the film doesn’t really ‘shock’ our audience. The final twist answers many logical errors too.The final twist really good but our audience may compare it to the twist in Darling movie. But that is deliberately done by the director and that will be known once the twist is revealed. The scenes look stupid and out of place at times. Moreover, the twist that we are talking about is already seen in Prabhas’s ‘Darling’ so for us it is nothing new.Bottomline: He came…he will go… The screenplay should have been prepared like that.Anyways, if the director focused on entertainment along with justifying his script, the result would have been better. The rest of the film should be good for creating an impact with that twist. Maybe that twist must have convinced the artists to accept this project.But that alone is not sufficient to run a film.
